Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I remove my dock from the lake for winter?
Ice is a dock’s worst enemy! When water freezes in late fall and winter, it expands, and when it thaws in sprint, it moves in ice floes. The expansion crumples sitting docks like a pop can. These floes can also drag your dock hundreds of yards off-shore.

I have a bubbler! Do I still need to remove my dock before the freeze?
Bubblers (which circulate warm water from the bottom of the lake towards the dock to prevent icing) are excellent tools, but they aren’t foolproof. Although they minimize ice damage, bubblers can be affected by deep freezes, ice floes, and power outages. If you have a bubbler and keep your dock or boat out for the winter, make sure someone checks on it regularly!

Is installation included when moving my new dock/lift onto the water?
Yes! Whether you purchase a new/used dock or lift or are simply bringing yours back in for the warm months, installation is included in our services.
